How It All Started...
At one time Central Florida was home to no less than five radio stations that offered Classic Country music. Sadly, by 2004 all of these stations had changed to other formats and Central Florida was left with no Classic Country music station. Feeling the loss, a radio junkie with a passion for the music and way too much time on his hands began researching how to return Classic Country music to the Orlando/Central Florida airwaves. While no frequencies were available on the AM or FM radio dial, there was an even more exciting place to debut a brand new radio station. January 8, 2005 was the big day that Sun Country 99.5 made it's official debut on the radio band of the future...live streaming on the Internet!
Since the launch of Sun Country 99.5 we have heard from people in cities all over the United States and around the world who have found the Internet home of over 7 decades of Classic Country music.
